Gyuri Vergouw

After more than 20 years in consulting, Vergouw joined the Holland Consulting Group in 2008. His professional experience focuses on change management, entrepreneurship and financial control and cost reduction. Vergouw works for national and international businesses and organisations and was co-creator of management games for top and middle managers that have been played in more than 40 countries on 5 continents.

He has published well over 300 management articles as well as 5 books, amongst which ‘De digitale manager’(The digital manager), ‘Sabbatsverlof’ (Sabbatical leave) and ‘De Strafschop’ (The Penalty). This last title earned him the nickname ‘Professor Penalty’.
He has given hundreds of interviews to the national and international media, a.o. Channel 4 (UK), ITV (UK), TF1 (France) International Herald Tribune, Barend & van Dorp (NL), de Telegraaf, de Volkskrant and NRC.

His work has earned him the Professionaliseringsprijs (Professionalisationprize) 2007 for his lasting contribution to the Dutch consultancy profession. He is a graduate from The University of Amsterdam (Economics) as well as the Vrije Universiteit (Post-doctorate Master in Consultancy). Since 1998 he is chief-editor of Managementsite.nl, a website for managers with millions of page-views each year. His weblogs 1minutemanager.nl en strafschop.nl are popular as well, with approx. 2 million pageviews in 2008.
