John Koster

John Koster has been a partner of Holland Consulting Group since 1997.

Koster received his master's degree in Business Economics and his Ph.D. in Marketing from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. His dissertation addresses the scientific foundations of Marketing. He started his career as a researcher and lecturer in business administration and marketing management at Erasmus University. He has been director of the Rotterdam Institute of Business Economic Studies (RIBES). As a consultant and partner of ICB management consultants he specialised in strategy and marketing, especially in business to business environments. He gained experience in many branches, including construction, transport and shipping, wholesale and banking and insurance. He carried out in-company training assignments for many large companies.

Koster has published articles in several national and international journals, books and conference proceedings. He has lectured at different universities in the Netherlands and abroad and is a regular speaker for companies and business associations. He is one of the editors of the NIMA Marketing Lexicon and of the International Encyclopedia of Marketing (published by the European Marketing Confederation). Koster is a member of the Dutch Marketing Institute (NIMA) and the American Marketing Association. He is a (parttime) research fellow at the School of Economics of Erasmus University.
