Leo Kerklaan

Leo A.F.M. Kerklaan studied law and economics on the Amsterdam Univerity. As a manager he has gained extensive experience in the fields of quality and performance management. For fifteen years he held various positions in industrial and financial organizations. Among other things, he was the quality audit manager and thereafter the head of education and training at Fokker Aircraft. As an external consultant he managed numerous company audits and projects in the area of quality improvement as well as quality control. He has published a range of books and articles on quality. He is also the co-founder of the “Dutch Society of Quality Control”.

In 1990 he became partner of Holland Consulting Group. Leo is focusing his consulting activities on strategic performance management. His aim to bring his clients to higher performance levels. He makes use of is the concept of the ‘high performing organization’. In this approach control and commitment are intertwined. In addition to this he has developed the concept of the Organizational Cockpit. His book ‘The Cockpit of the Organization’ is a bestseller in Netherlands. In addition to his consulting work Leo frequently lectures about Performance Management. He regularly gives presentations to managers all over the Netherlands. He also teaches Performance Management at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, and Maastricht School of Management.
